Corwin has approximately 20 years of experience in building and leading teams responsible for the development and implementations of technical architectures to enable the trading of physical and financial energy commodities. As an ETRM architect, Corwin is known for delivering high-performance, high-volume, high-availability financial transaction processing architectures for equity and energy trading organizations. Corwin’s diverse energy trading expertise covers the trading and risk management of financial and physical commodities across gas, power, crude and refined products. Representative Experience

  • Led the due diligence and business process and technology migration and integration of the midstream gas gathering assets on behalf of a private equity group. Portfolio of assets included all of the gas gathering infrastructure, employees, and technology assets (SCADA, ERP, BILLING) supporting the movement of natural gas from the Barnett Shale and Mid-Continent producing areas in North Texas and Oklahoma.
  • Developed the functional and technical architecture associated with the convergence of seven disparate gas marketing companies into a single integrated trading organization. Designed a technical architecture strategy to continue the marketing, billing and risk management functions using Zai*Net, ETM and OpenLink gMotion during a two-year business transformation period. Identified material gaps between an existing Big 3 developed strategy and worked with the client to mitigate risks and improve upon the core value proposition of the project.
  • Supported a private equity group’s M&A and business transition activities surrounding the entities strategy for acquisition of hard energy generation assets in North America. Key activities include developing a team of M&A energy consultants to provide services around the operational assessment of generation assets, development and management of transition services agreements, SCADA architecture migration, trading system consolidation, and data migration. Developed a strategy for the supply of technology O&M support for this client’s gas fired generation assets throughout North America.
  • Led the due diligence and business process and technology migration and integration of the largest power trading portfolio acquisition ever on behalf of a major investment bank. Portfolio included a heavy physical tolling component, including significant risk modeling and logistics challenges.
  • Led a team to develop a financial reporting technical architecture to enable the reporting of rig information from Parkers Lawson financial reporting system. Using Hyperion, Corwin and his team integrated inventory, rig location and financial information to provide drill-through analysis of general ledger expense and income items.
