Randall Osterberg is a Manager Director with Opportune LLP driving the firm’s overall business development efforts with a focus on client prospect generation, retention efforts and expanding the firm’s market brand. Based in Dallas, Randall is a seasoned financial executive with demonstrated success in multiple sectors of banking supporting energy industry companies. During his more than 35-year career, Randall amassed over 155 professional relationships spanning private equity/debt funds, banks, financial advisory firms and law firms, with ongoing business developing efforts in creating relationships within energy-focused equity and debt funds in New York, Boston, Houston, Dallas and Los Angeles.

Prior to Opportune, Randall was Co-Founder and Principal of Broadmoor Energy Capital Advisors LLC where he focused on capital formation and M&A identification/negotiation/realization for companies concentrating in energy-related entities, marrying appropriate risk/return capital to fund acquisitions and/or development projects underscoring company growth strategies. In this role, he also acted in a financial leadership position with three private independent oil and gas E&P companies. The predominance of his career to date has been specializing in energy investment/corporate banking and capital formation advisory, primarily with MUFG Union Bank (21 years) as Managing Director. His role at MUFG Union Bank focused on business development and relationship management as a principal senior manager. Randall played similar roles during his banking career with First City National Bank of Houston, First Interstate Bank of Texas and NationsBank of Texas.

Randall earned his BBA in Finance at Texas A&M University. Professional affiliations include: Independent Petroleum Association of America, Texas Independent Producers & Royal Owners Association, Colorado Oil & Gas Association and Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association. 


  • At MUFG Union Bank, served as the principal contact and face of the organization for clients and prospects included in portfolio, with investment bank, commodities and treasury management business lines acting as product partners, which was integrated into sales effort. Won Lead Arranger mandates despite limited brand recognition in the U.S. at the time.
  • Arranged, syndicated and managed multi-bank credit facilities to both large publicly-held oil and gas companies such as Chesapeake Energy Corp., Continental Resources and HollyFrontier Corp., as well as privately-held, private equity-backed entities (three to five “club” deals), collectively totaling more than $8 billion in capital sourcing value.
  • Acted as CFO (through Broadmoor Energy Capital Advisors) for a number of oil and gas companies, namely companies focused in either the Permian or South Texas.
