Oilfield Services: Reserve Engineering & Geosciences: Technical Evaluation/Due Diligence
Oilfield services company (“the Company”) serves customers focused on the development and ongoing production of oil and gas from shale formations in the U.S., primarily in the Marcellus/Utica, Rocky Mountain/Bakken and Haynesville shale regions.
Ralph E. Davis Associates (RED) was hired by the Company, which was looking to acquire Salt Water Disposal (SWD) wells in the Utica play area in eastern Ohio. The Company was making an entry in the basin and hired RED to conduct a review of permitting and production activity adjacent to an acquisition.
RED engineers added value by using public data sources to analyze activity in the Area of Interest (AOI) identified by the client. Water/brine production data was unavailable from commercial sources and was downloaded from the Ohio Division of Natural Resources website and was then incorporated in the analysis. RED experts concluded that the acquisition of SWD wells are adjacent to a region of enhanced activity in the Utica play. RED subsequently presented the findings to the client.
Established in 1924, RED is one of the most respected international independent petroleum engineering firms. RED performs petroleum engineering and geological studies, independently certifies reserve reports and prepares financial analyses and technical evaluations for use in litigation or regulatory hearings.
