Here's Why Some Banks Are Offloading Their Reserve-Based Loans
David Morris, managing director who leads Opportune's Restructuring practice in Dallas, was recently quoted in Law360 offering insight into why some commercial banks may be looking to offload their reserve-based lending (RBL) loan portfolios in order to reduce their exposure to the industry. Morris cautioned that there won't necessarily be a deep pool of buyers for banks looking to sell their RBL portfolios and the market could get saturated quickly.
"It depends on the size of the portfolio you're talking about. To take down a large portfolio, it would be a much smaller universe."
