Ryan Dusek, Director in Opportune's Commodity Risk Advisory group, was recently quoted in Reuters offering commentary around Mexico's annual oil hedging program. The opaque financial oil deal has broad market implications, particularly in light of impending stricter sulfur regulations on marine bunker fuel that's slated to go into effect next year, ongoing trade disputes, as well as unforeseen geopolitical events occurring around the world.
"I wouldn't be surprised if traders are already positioning themselves for this deal. the longer traders wait on this, the harder this becomes."
