Opportune LLP Announces Retirement of Partner Jim Boney
Opportune LLP, a leading global energy consulting firm, announced today that Jim Boney, CEO of Opportune’s outsourcing practice, is retiring effective year end, after a distinguished 40 year career in oil and gas accounting.
Jim led Opportune’s outsourcing services since the firm’s acquisition of PetroAcct LP, which he founded in 1999. Prior to PetroAcct, Boney served as Controller of Transco Energy Company’s oil and gas E&P subsidiaries, where he helped develop efficient and flexible computer models for short and long-range planning, and for the purchase and disposition of properties.
“On behalf of the Opportune team, I would like to express our sincerest gratitude to Jim for his tireless dedication, leadership, mentorship, meaningful industry achievements and his commitment to client service. Jim has been absolutely critical to Opportune’s success and we wish him the very best. I know Jim will approach retirement with the same zeal, joy and charm that he brought to the office every day,” stated Opportune Partner Carl Wimberley.
“Jim has been everything you look for in a leader and always put client’s goals first. I will miss him personally, but look forward to keeping in touch,” said David Baggett, Managing Partner of Opportune. “Over the next several months, Jim will be instrumental in transferring leadership to Shane Bayless. I have complete confidence in Shane and his vision for outsourcing for years to come.”
