Professional Experience

Austin is a Senior Consultant in Opportune LLP’s Valuation practice based in Houston. Before Opportune, Austin was a Valuation Advisory Services Analyst at Kroll (formerly Duff & Phelps), where he performed due diligence, market research, report writing, and financial modeling using DCF, market and transaction approach analyses for financial reporting, tax, and consulting purposes; collaborated with valuations team and internal specialists in performing purchase price allocations, business unit valuations, and reviews on equity and debt securities for private equity and hedge funds; and balanced engagements with tight deadlines under multiple managing directors and across a range of project scopes; among other duties.

During his collegiate studies, Austin participated in an undergraduate petroleum engineering design project, where he collaborated with a team of four to model, develop, and optimize an oil well lease in the Michigan Basin. He forecasted cash flows using production data and NYMEX futures prices using PHDWin and compiled operational economic data into a written report for presentation.

Austin graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering and an M.S. in Finance.
