Professional Experience
Johanna is a Consultant at Opportune, where she specializes in the firm’s Sustainability advisory practice. She joined Opportune in 2026 following the firm’s acquisition of PEP Consulting & Advocacy, a practice she contributed to at Pickering Energy Partners (PEP). Johanna’s work focuses on the quantitative side of sustainability, helping energy companies transform complex operational data into audit-ready disclosures and actionable decarbonization strategies.
Prior to her roles at Opportune and PEP, Johanna developed a strong foundation in environmental science and data analytics through her education and applied studies. Her ability to navigate the technical nuances of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventories enables her to provide clients with a level of scientific rigor increasingly demanded by regulators and sophisticated investors.
Johanna is experienced in leveraging data-driven insights to solve environmental challenges. At PEP and prior, she was instrumental in developing proprietary tools for Life-Cycle Analysis (LCA), particularly for "well-to-wheel" carbon accounting across various energy sources. Her work bridges the gap between data analytics, executive-level strategy, and public-interfacing communication, ensuring that sustainability goals are grounded in physical reality and effectively communicated.
Johanna earned a BS in Environmental Science with a minor in business from Northwestern University. Johanna also earned an MS in Environmental and Sustainability Management from Georgetown University through the McDonough School of Business and the Earth Commons Institute. Her academic and professional background make her a key resource for companies navigating the intersection of energy production, environmental impact, and evolving global regulations.
