Melanie is a Manager at Opportune LLP, where she helps lead the firm’s Sustainability advisory practice. She joined Opportune in 2026 following the firm’s acquisition of PEP Consulting & Advocacy, a practice she helped build and scale at Pickering Energy Partners (PEP). Melanie’s work is centered on bridging the gap between technical sustainability data and capital markets, ensuring that energy and industrial companies can effectively communicate their value proposition to a sophisticated investor base.
Prior to her leadership roles at Opportune and PEP, Melanie was a key member of Nasdaq’s Strategic Capital Intelligence and ESG Advisory teams. During her tenure at Nasdaq, she served as a trusted advisor to a diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from high-growth IPOs to global mega-cap corporations. She specialized in developing proprietary analytics, including trading pattern assessments and ownership trend reports, to help management teams navigate complex market dynamics and optimize their investor relations strategies.
A prolific thought leader, Melanie has co-authored numerous influential reports on the evolving regulatory landscape, including "The Path to TCFD Implementation for Energy Companies" and "Navigating Change in 2025." Her expertise is frequently sought after by industry organizations; she has provided insights on sustainability due diligence and climate-related disclosure laws for the Energy Workforce & Technology Council and other major trade associations.
Melanie holds the CFA Institute ESG Investing certification and is a Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)- Certified Sustainability Professional. She has experience in translating complex regulatory requirements, such as the SEC’s climate disclosure rules and California’s landmark climate laws, into actionable corporate strategies that mitigate risk and drive valuation premiums.
