A leading public upstream energy company recently acquired a substantial portfolio of producing assets in the Northeast Appalachia area and needed to efficiently integrate these assets from a legacy Excalibur ERP system into their Quorum ERP system. The Solution

Opportune provided end-to-end project leadership and technical execution to deliver smooth and efficient integration. The approach included:

  • Data Cleansing and Integration: Leveraged Opportune’s Data Translation Tool via Alteryx to execute thorough data cleansing, conversion, and seamless integration from Excalibur into Quorum across various modules, including Master Data, JIB, Revenue, General Ledger, and Land.
  • Comprehensive Application Support: Provided extensive Quorum application support, acting as super users throughout the engagement to ensure smooth transitions and minimal disruptions.
  • Project Management: Overseeing the entire conversion effort acquisition project, serving as both the project manager and the liaison between the client and Quorum

Opportune conducted a comprehensive analysis of all upstream assets involved in a recent acquisition and developed a tailored integration plan to transition legacy data from a dated system to a modern ERP platform. Using Opportune’s Data Translation Tool powered by Alteryx, the team streamlined the data conversion and transformation process by efficiently populating ERP conversion templates across key functional areas, including Revenue, JIB, Master Data, and Land. The tool enables scalable data preparation and processing of large datasets, significantly improving accuracy and reducing manual effort.

In less than six months, Opportune successfully converted approximately 20,000 lease agreements and 1,000 properties along with associated accounting data. This effort resulted in one of the fastest upstream acquisition integrations in the client’s history, and Opportune was proud to support this milestone.
