A private oil company faced substantial volume and complexity growth due to the assets located in and around the Bakken field in North Dakota. The company has assets across the full supply chain including E&P, pipelines, gathering, storage, and marketing.
The client engaged Opportune LLP to lead the selection, implementation, and integration of their energy trading and risk management (ETRM) first purchase and pipeline operational systems. Opportune provided the company with the following services:
- Implemented RightAngle ETRM software using a process-based approach ensuring that the configured solution met the functional and technical needs of the client.
- Developed reports and interfaces to ensure complete coverage of data requirements of the trading, enterprise resource planning (ERP), and control systems.
- Assisted in the configuration of the system and the conversion of master data.
- Led and executed testing activities, including parallel testing.
As a result of the RightAngle platform implementation and corresponding integrations, the client was able to scale from 50 shippers to over 200 with no additional headcount. Also, the delivered solution supported lease crude marketing volume growth of over 150% from 75,000 barrels per day to 200,000 barrels per day. Opportune developed a crude run ticketing solution processing 8,000 tickets per month while providing more tools to identify gain/loss and blending impacts on P&L.
